I miss you guys like crazy....
Sunny days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat.
I feel you everywhere I go.
I see your smile, I see your face,
I hear you laughin' in the rain.
I still can't believe you're gone.

It ain't fair: you died too young,
Like the story that had just begun,
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you,
All the hell that I've been through,
Just knowin' no-one could take your place.
An' sometimes I wonder,
Who'd you be today?

Would you see the world?
Would you chase your dreams?
Settle down with a family,
I wonder what would you name your babies?
Some days the sky's so blue,
I feel like I can talk to you,
An' I know it might sound crazy.

It ain't fair: you died too young,
Like the story that had just begun,
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you,
All the hell that I've been through,
Just knowin' no-one could take your place.
An' sometimes I wonder,
Who you'd be today?

Today, today, today.
Today, today, today.

Sunny days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat.
The only thing that gives me hope,
Is I know I'll see you again some day.
Some day, some day, some day.

I turned on CMT... and that song was playing. I just can't believe it's been 3 years...

So. I knew I was out of shape. But I didn't realize how out of shape I was until my first band rehersal last night. Holy cow. This has been the longest I've gone without playing my clarinet since.... 6th grade? I haven't touched it since May. I could barely hold a whole note. And I have this lovely little indent in the bottom of my lip. I suppose I'll get used to it again.
But on the bright side, we're playing 2 songs that I've already played before. One is Overture for Winds and I ABSOLUTELY loved this song when we played it last year! It was definitely a clarinet song... lol. Only this time I'm playing 2nd clarinet, instead of first, so that takes a little bit of adjustment. And we're playing a song that I played at Honor's Band last year, I don't remember the name of it though. And this time I have the exact same part. I get to sit by Maria since she's the only oboe, so I'm pretty pumped about that!
Another thing about being in band is that there's all these couples. And I guess my friend Becky is bound and determined to set me up with someone. So, we will have to see. There were a couple of cuties in there, but I'm guessing they're the ones that are already taken.... lol. Plus, the gay guy that is really cute... haha. Aren't they all?
Anyways... that's enough... time for me to get ready for EspaƱol.

Ah, you have to love public transportation. Today was Maria and Melanie's half birthdays, so we decided to go out to Applebee's to celebrate since we won't be seeing each other this summer. First, we almost miss the bus, because, as always, we decide to wait until the last minute to start leaving. Then when we finally get to the bus and get all the way out to Onalaska, we pull the little thingy so the bus driver will drop us off at Shopko and we can walk to Applebee's. And, he slows down there, but doesn't drop us off. We don't know why he didn't, it lit up and the thing dinged. And he kept going! So we pulled it again, and no response. We ended up going to Red Lobster instead, because that's where he finally let us off, after giving us dirty looks for pulling the thing so many times! Well, if he would have dropped us off in the right place, we wouldn't have had to worry about that!
Then we realized that we only had about a half hour to eat before the last bus came. We had to call one of our RAs, and she came and picked Brooke up so she could go back and get her car, then come back for the rest of us. So it was quite the experience! And it's the first time I've eaten at Red Lobster! Yummy... I had catfish, and even though I'm not much of a fish person, it was yummy! And their biscuts are delicious!
Well, I have some stuff to read for tomorrow!
♥.

So, I'm officially a band geek again! I'm joining the Symphonic Band, which didn't require try outs. Which is definitely a plus... lol. It's 1 credit, and we meet for 2 hours on Mondays and Wednesday nights. So I now have 18 credits. Crazy? We'll see... lol.

Thursday, January 25, 2007

I thought I hated Thursdays last year. This year I really hate them. And Tuesdays. I have class pretty much from 8:50-3:40. I do have about a half hour in there for lunch, and 10 minute breaks to walk to my classes, but other than that, straight class. Oh well. At least I don't have class on Fridays until 11 :)

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

So. I found a song called Allison. And if you go to my MySpace, you can listen to it there. Personally, I think the lyrics match me perfectly... lol.

Monday, January 22, 2007

Ah, I forgot how much I missed college boys! One thing I don't mind about having an 8:50 class :)
And I didn't realize how much I missed my friends until I saw them again. I got all caught up with a couple during lunch, and it was fun.
I've decided that I am in love with my candle warmer. I was suprised we're allowed to have them in our dorms, doesn't seem like they allow much. But I bought a vanilla candle from Wal-Mart and my room smells AMAZING.
Who knew it was so complicated to get official transcripts? I need one for one of the scholarships I am applying for, and I have to send a signed form of consent. I can scan it and e-mail it to them, so now I just have to find someone with a scanner... hm.
That is all for now. The first day of classes went well, I'm really looking forward to my Spanish class, it should be a lot of fun.

Well, I made it back to La X. Scary how much it snowed this morning, we got 6 inches in about 3 hours, it was NUTS. It was slow going, but we made it. I took some pictures this morning when I went to put wood into the fire, I'll have to post them on here, and show off my new digital camera :)

Ah, so the Relient K one didn't work. It didn't have any comment links or anything. Anyone know why?
Ah! I can't believe I found a Relient K layout! I'm excited.
I LOVE Relient K. In case you couldn't tell or anything.

So, by popular request, I will write about a couple of my hotel experiences!

The first one was when I went to my youth group to Tennessee. We drove there, and we stayed in a hotel in Shelbyville, IN. One of the adults had called and made reservations. Well, when we got there, the woman told us that there was no way we could have had two rooms reserved for the number of people that we had (2 adults & 7 kids). So, she wasn't going to let us stay there. She was NOT the friendliest person you'd ever meet, but she ended up letting us stay, even though it was "against fire code." Well, that was just the beginning of our adventure. The girls were in one room, and the boys were in the other, when Tim (one of the chaperones) went downstairs to check on something. We were goofing around, as usual, the girls in their room and the boys in theirs. When Tim got back, we got this brilliant idea to call the boys' room, and my friend Bree would pretend to be the woman at the front desk. In the most awesome southern accent EVER, she called the boys room and told them that they needed to be quiet, they were having many complaints about the noise coming from that room. Sure enough, as soon as she had hung up, the phone was ringing, and it was Tim calling to ask if the girls were making noise, because the boys had been quiet the whole time he was gone. He was so serious, we didn't think we had pulled it off! We didn't tell him that it was Bree calling until we got back from our trip, and announced it in front of the church. :)
That same night, it was storming like CRAZY. Since we only had two rooms, 3 girls had to share one bed, so we had to sleep lengthwise. We didn't realize that it was storming that bad, but when we woke up in the morning, Tim (who for some strange reason wakes up at 5 a.m.?!) came in and said that there had been a tornado in Shelbyville that night. Talk about crazy!

One of my favorite hotel stays was when we went to Convo last fall (my senior year). We get to the hotel, and we're waiting in the lobby to get all checked in. I'm watching people walk in, and these 2 older guys walk in, and they have Iowa Hawkeye coats on. I didn't think anything of it... hey, we were in Madison, and the Badgers were playing the Hawkeyes the next day. But then, a few minutes later, all of these guys start walking in, carrying duffel bags. Cute, college guys. Then it dawns on me. This is the Iowa Hawkeye football team! It was awesome.
We got all checked into our rooms, and my friend Michelle and I were checking out the hotel, when we realized that we were staying on the SAME FLOOR as the football players. Now let me tell you, I was NOT complaining at all :) There was even one following us down the hall, and he was singing, it was cute, and so was he!

So yes, those are my hotel experiences. Nothing too exciting, but stuff I will remember :)
Hm. Instead, I guess it just goes to show that you can trust your friends. It's stupid drunk boys that you can't trust.

I guess it just goes to show that sometimes you can't even trust your "best friends."

I love snow, oh yes I do. I could never live anywhere that didn't get snow. You don't know how disappointed I was not to have a white Christmas this year.

Only a week left before school starts. I'm ready to go back, and I'm sure my family is ready to have me out of the house.

I'm thinking I will be retaking Pre-Calc. I don't know if I can do it online, but having that low of a GPA really kills any scholarship opportunities. If not, maybe I'll take this summer at UW-Platteville, and carpool with my cousin.

Hmm... well, that is all. Nothing too exciting... I'm off to do the dishes.... oh what fun.

Hmm. Jenny Craig sponsoring To Be Fat Like Me on Lifetime. Ironic?

Sunday, January 07, 2007

So... I have 2 weeks left in my break, and I must say, it's been a pretty great break!
I went to a girls' basketball game on Friday night. I must say, listening to the Mean Machine instead of being a part of it brought back some memories... I even went back to the band room to visit... and two of my "friends" were in there. I tried talking to them but they kinda just stood there, so I said whatever and left. So they can't complain that I didn't try. Even though the basketball team may suck, the band is still good. Although, they don't sound nearly as good with out me. I mean, I carried the band, being first chair clarinet and all... hahaha. I wish.
After the game me and a bunch of friends went bowling. That was a lot of fun, because we had made it kind of a tradition to go bowling after the games last year. We only ended up bowling one game, yet we were at the bowling alley for 3 hours... lol. One of my friends came in that we hadn't seen since homecoming, so we sat around and talked for a long time. It was great to catch up with everyone.
I also learned that even after all of this, some of my classmates are still jerks. So, there's this guy Derek, and we used to be really good friends when we were little... then he got popular, and I didn't. And I only had a crush on him... for like... forever? lol. Anyways... he was at the game last night... he and his friends sat on one side of the gym, my friends and I on the other. So, on to the point of the story. I made eye contact with him a couple of times during the game, and even if he wouldn't have done that, he still would have had to see me... but did he or any of them make an effort to come talk to us? Nope. Should I have expected it? Nope. Did I make an effort? Nope... so I guess I shouldn't be talking? But who knows, I thought maybe college would change some people.
I've got my scholarship stuff all ready to go in the mail! So, pretty soon, I should actually have some money! My GPA wasn't what I expected it to be... but it was good enough to get me my scholarships, and I'm in "Good Standing" in the university. It makes me wonder what it would take to be in bad standing! lol. I did end up with a 2.5... because I got a D in Pre-Calc. I'm definitely not used to D's. But I have to keep reminding myself that it is a C+ average, and a C isn't that bad. And hopefully my J-Term grade will help out a lot... and I've still got 7 semesters to bring it back up! lol.
Hmmm... I think that's all I have to say for now. I hope everyone's 2007 is going great!

So I went back to read my comments... and now all the comments are showing up as anonymous? Is that with the new blogger? I'm hoping it's just a glitch!
